Job summary

The Controls Technician at Saige Partners is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and supporting robotics, automation systems, and production equipment. This role works with maintenance and manufacturing teams to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Key duties include diagnosing robots, conveyors, HMIs, sensors; performing PLC/HMI programming and modifications; supporting preventive maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives; and ensuring accurate

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated production equipment, robotics, and related systems.
  • Diagnose and repair industrial robots, including material-handling and welding robots.
  • Troubleshoot conveyors, vision systems, cameras, HMIs, sensors, and other automated equipment.
  • Support the integration and operation of robotics and automation systems with welding, material-handling, presses, assembly equipment, and other production machinery.
  • Perform PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting, and modifications to support equipment improvements and process optimization.
  • Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment problems.
  • Apply robotic safety practices, including safety zoning and safeguarding systems.
  • Install new equipment and relocate existing machinery throughout the facility.
  • Use equipment manuals, schematics, electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation for equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Complete work orders, downtime documentation, maintenance records, and required reports.
  • Communicate equipment issues, completed repairs, and ongoing work during maintenance handoffs.
  • Maintain accurate equipment documentation, schematics, blueprints, and technical records.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance parts and repair components.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance, continuous improvement, and equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and promote safe work practices.
  • Stay current on maintenance technologies, equipment, safety procedures, and industry standards through ongoing training.
  • Use computers and maintenance software to document work and access technical information.
  • Follow applicable safety, electrical, environmental, and industry standards.
  • Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
