Basic Scope/Purpose: (The job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization.)

Supports Controls Engineering Department by providing setup, configuration, troubleshooting and repair of electrical control systems. Assists with testing of systems, devices, and instruments. Working with others to detect problems and implement solutions. Maintain quality and safety standards.

  • Works directly with manufacturing maintenance personnel for electrical control repair or changes.
  • Identifies controls opportunities within production to drive continuous improvement.
  • Elevates control issues above his or her ability to a Controls Engineer.
  • Works directly with contracted electrical services during installation or repair.
  • Troubleshoots issues with existing installed systems.
  • Provides hands-on technical support for the engineering process and contributes to the completion of a project.
  • Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems.
  • Integrates safety into all aspects of the work performed.
  • Analyzes project requirements and performs standard technical calculations.
  • Maintain and Promote Fenner Precision Polymers Values and Behaviors at all times.

Education and/or Relative Experience: (The level of education and/or experience needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job.)

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives and servos.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70E, National Electrical Code, and related safety codes.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Omron and Yaskawa brands is a plus.

  • Report incidents, near miss, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and other hazards in the workplace. STOP WORK when imminent danger is present
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion and keep equipment in proper working condition
