TCI Technology Consulting Inc. is seeking an Ignition and Controls MES Technician to support manufacturing operations in Jeffersonville, IN.

This contract-to-hire role focuses on maintaining the Ignition MES platform, troubleshooting PLCs/HMIs, and ensuring accurate production data and downtime tracking across third-shift operations. Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation or related field.
• Experience supporting the Ignition platform or another MES.
• Familiarity with Ignition Perspective, Vision, Tag Historian, alarms, and reporting.
• Experience with PLCs, SQL, and industrial networks.
• On-site work in Jeffersonville, IN.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and support PLCs, HMIs, sensors, networks, drives, and production equipment.
• Monitor the Ignition MES platform including dashboards, status, downtime tracking.
• Diagnose controls, MES, database, network, and system communication issues.
• Support production scheduling, work orders, OEE, quality and material tracking.
• Perform approved PLC, HMI, Ignition changes, backups, testing, and documentation.
• Support integrations between equipment, MES, SQL databases, ERP and enterprise systems.
• Respond to support requests, identify root causes, restore functionality, escalate if needed.
• Assist with startups, changeovers, maintenance, testing and commissioning.
• Maintain system docs, logs and support tickets.
• Follow safety, cybersecurity, backup and change-management procedures.

TCI has an immediate need for an Ignition and Controls MES Technician in Jeffersonville, IN. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

NOTE: This position requires US Citizenship or Permanent Residence.

SUMMARY

The Ignition and Controls MES Technician supports manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving industrial control systems and the Ignition Manufacturing Execution System (MES) platform. This role helps ensure accurate production data, reliable equipment communication, effective downtime tracking, and continuous system availability during third-shift operations. The technician works closely with Production, Maintenance, Controls Engineering, Information Technology, Quality, and Operations leadership to resolve system issues and minimize production interruptions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Troubleshoot and support PLCs, HMIs, sensors, industrial networks, drives, instrumentation, and automated production equipment.
• Monitor and maintain the Ignition MES platform, including production dashboards, equipment status, downtime tracking, and production data.
• Diagnose controls, MES, database, network, and system communication issues.
• Support production scheduling, work orders, OEE reporting, quality tracking, material tracking, and electronic production records.
• Perform approved PLC, HMI, and Ignition system changes, backups, testing, and documentation.
• Support integrations between production equipment, MES, SQL databases, ERP, and other enterprise systems.
• Respond to production support requests, identify root causes, restore system functionality, and **escalate** unresolved issues.
• Assist with equipment start-ups, changeovers, maintenance, testing, and commissioning.
• Maintain system documentation, troubleshooting records, shift logs, and support tickets.
• Follow established safety, cybersecurity, backup, and change-management procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
• Experience supporting the Ignition platform or another manufacturing execution system.
• Familiarity with Ignition Perspective, Vision, Tag Historian, alarms, reporting, gateway configuration, and MES modules.
• Experience with PLC platforms used at the facility and working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Familiarity with OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP, MQTT, managed switches, VLANs, remote I/O, and industrial communications.
• Basic understanding of Python or Ignition scripting, computerized maintenance-management systems, help-desk ticketing, and industrial cybersecurity.
• Relevant Ignition, automation, networking, electrical-safety, or controls certifications.
• Work is performed on-site in Jeffersonville, IN.
