Zusammenfassung

Magna International Limited Seating division is seeking a Design/Electrical Controls Technician to support PLC-based control systems in a manufacturing environment. You will design, develop, install and troubleshoot automated systems, collaborate with engineers and maintenance teams, and ensure safety and quality standards.

The role requires experience with PLC programming (Allen Bradley), reading schematics, and strong problem-solving skills; background in electrical/electronic/mechatronic

Qualifikationen

  • Associates degree or technical equivalent required; electrical/electronic/mechatronic background preferred.
  • Experience with electrical control system design and PLC programming; able to read electrical schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting.

Aufgaben

  • Design, develop and install new PLC-based control systems.
  • Provide production support by troubleshooting PLC-related issues.
  • Create and update technical documents and wiring/electrical schematics.
  • Conduct functionality and fault recovery testing and support startup.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance Technicians and Supervisors.
  • Maintain safety and environmental standards per Magna policies.

Job Responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the design, development and installation of new plc based control systems.
  • Provides production support by trouble shooting and resolving machine PLC related issues.
  • Produce and update documents including work/user instructions, functional specifications, detailed design specifications, electrical and pneumatic schematics, etc.
  • Conduct machine functionality and fault recovery testing and participates in project startup and machine commissioning.
  • Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineers, Maintenance Technicians, Production Supervisors and other internal staff.
  • Reports all unsafe and unhealthy conditions, as well as injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses and property damage immediately to management.
  • Complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with the Magna Employee Charter, the Occupational Health & Safety Act. And the Michigan Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • If there is any reason to believe that any equipment, physical condition of the workplace or assigned task is likely to jeopardize customer’s requirements, internal requirements or the quality of tests results and/or equipment build, notify management immediately.
  • Authorities as detailed in our Quality System for ISO/TS16949 2009 including but not limited to Corrective and Preventative Actions, Control of Documents, Control of Records, Internal Audits and Control of Nonconforming Product

EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience in the following: Electrical control system design, PLC programming and troubleshooting, Strong MS Office skills, willing to work overtime as per job requirements.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Control Tech preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial networks. (DeviceNet, EthernetIP)
  • Familiar with Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex, Omron)
  • Basic knowledge of the use of electrical devices (i.e. proximity switches, load cells, LVDT’s, signal conditioners, etc.)
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, schematic design specification.
  • Excellent written & oral communication, as well as analytical & problem solving skills.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic or similar Engineering degree/diploma/certificate or Trades Qualification and significant equivalent work experience.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Team oriented, communicates well with others and able to interact with people at all levels and departments.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks. Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings.
  • Basic electrical and motor controls, Allen Bradley PLC controls, including RSLogix500 and RSLogix5000 platforms, RSLogix, Panelview and Panelview Plus HMI applications, IFM and Keyence inspection camera applications.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
