Job summary

Robert Bosch Group in Indiana seeks a technician to provide PLC support in production, troubleshoot downtime, and diagnose equipment malfunctions. Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Basic PLC programming knowledge expected.
  • Robotics knowledge preferred (Nachi/Fanuc).
  • Electrical control basics understanding.
  • Electrical motors principles understanding.
  • Knowledge of electropneumatic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for PLC topics in production.
  • Troubleshooting support for downtime issues in production lines.
  • Diagnosis of equipment malfunctions including repairs and adjustments.
  • Develop process and cycle time improvements to increase performance.
  • Support implementation of new automation devices and vision systems.
  • Robotics issues support and troubleshooting.
  • Electrical installation and PLC programming support for projects.
  • Interface with technicians and engineering for best control solutions.
  • Mentor less experienced technicians in PLC topics.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality principles and Bosch systems.
  • Promote Bosch Production System and Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Comply with EHS policies and complete scheduled PMs.

Job Description
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide technical support for PLC topics in production.

  • Troubleshooting support for downtime issues in production lines.
  • Diagnosis equipment malfunctions including complicated repairs and adjustments.
  • Develop process and cycle time improvement to increase performance in production.
  • Support implementation of new automation devices & vision systems in manufacturing processes cells.
  • Robotics issues support. Implementations and/or troubleshooting.
  • Electrical installation and PLC programming support for entire projects (offline and in production).
  • Interface with other technicians and engineering groups to achieve best solutions to process control problems.
  • Support Internal PLC training and mentoring of less experienced technicians.
  • Ensure compliance of Quality basic principles.
  • Actively promote and support the Bosch production system, participation in Continuous Improvement projects, policy implementation and teamwork.
  • It is the associate's responsibility to know and apply the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Policies, according to the following responsibilities:
  • Comply with legal and corporate requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Comply with Security requirements applied for your area.
  • Complete assembly equipment automation and robot targeted PMs.
  • Actively participate in training and tests that are scheduled according to the risk level of your position in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • PLC programming basic knowledge level.
  • Robotics basic knowledge (preferably in Nachi and Fanuc)
  • Electrical control basic knowledge.
  • Electrical motors principles knowledge.
  • Electropneumatic systems knowledge.
Additional Information
KEY COMPETENCIES
  • Position will be assigned Curricula from the Bosch competency module that supports controls technician competencies upon hire
  • Technician as minimum with demonstrated ability to move to Advanced Level or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in automatic equipment functionality and troubleshooting.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Analytically minded and self-driven to advance one’s own understanding and proficiency in automation control development.
  • High level of teamwork, detail oriented, self-motivated, and the ability to multi-task in a dynamic and challenging manufacturing environment.
