Job summary

Plastipak Packaging, Inc is seeking a Controls Technician to repair and program electromechanical systems on a rotating night shift. You will work with RSLogix/Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and vision components while supporting plant operations in Champaign.

The role emphasizes MTBF improvements and hands-on training through a broad range of equipment, robotics and networking tasks on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree strongly preferred.
• Minimum of one year electrical experience.
• Minimum of one year PLC or Ladder Logic programming.
• Experience with FANUC robots is highly preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment (electric, motor, pneumatic, conveyors, robotics).
• Program Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs; manage networking and vision systems.
• Engineer MTBF improvements and reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with maintenance and production teams; pursue on-the-job training.
