About the role

The PLC/Controls Technician is a leader in electrical/controls systems and that prioritizes troubleshooting, maintaining, correcting and designing electrical control systems.

•Design, specify components, assemble, install, test and maintain automation and control systems

•Troubleshoot automation and control systems using appropriate tools and test equipment. Repair and make changes as required

•Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components

•Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the needed changes or repairs to ensure performance and safety of systems

•Ensure electrical systems meet local, regional and national standards for safety

•Navigate and understand PLC programs and component communication protocols

•Train and mentor other maintenance team members in electrical, automation and control systems

•Use the appropriate hand tools and power tools to disassemble and reassemble manufacturing equipment

•Inspect, maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems and manufacturing equipment

•Operate work vehicles such as forklift, scissor lift, articulating lift, etc.

•Manage projects, understand internal customer requirements and communicate with suppliers to secure needed parts

•Ability to troubleshoot industrial electrical systems and devices

•Ability to design and install new electrical control systems

•Ability to read and understand PLC programs. Progamming will be a plus. HMDI and HMI a plus. Responsible for VFD set up.

•Ability to operate hand tools and power tools

•Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems

•Ability to train and mentor other team members on electrical and control systems

•Ability to communicate clearly with Kerry team members and contractors

The pay range for this position is $38 - $42 per hour. Kerry typically does not hire an individual at the top or near the top of the range, as we are a pay-for-performance company, and this range is set to continue to reward performance annually while in role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate within the above range may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
