Nestlé Purina North America in Atlanta, GA, seeks a Controls Technical Specialist to troubleshoot, maintain and enhance PLC and PC-based automation systems. You will oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications, supporting production line changes with the maintenance team.

Open to 2nd or 3rd shift, with assignment based on business needs and candidate preference. A technical background and hands-on PLC/HMI experience are essential for this role.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or HMI-systems experience.
• 1+ year of PLC/HMI experience with an Associate’s Degree.
• Experience supporting production line modifications and capital projects.

Position Summary

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state-of-the-art facility. With safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. Our factory also does its part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta—an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. As a Controls Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, reliability and system control’s data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. In this role, you will oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment, and work directly with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.

To support plant operations, this position will work an off-shift schedule. Candidates must be open to working either a 2nd or 3rd shift (not both), with shift assignment based on candidate preference and business needs.

• Configure, program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
• Perform preventive maintenance for controls and organize electrical/control parts inventory
• Provide electrical and programming support on plant capital projects
• Implement control systems software upgrade
• Provide instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to plant maintenance staff
• Assist with training of maintenance personnel

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND 3+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or HMI-systems in controls, automation, electrical, or industrial maintenance environments

OR

• Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline AND 1+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or HMI-systems in controls, automation, electrical, or industrial maintenance environments

Salary: $72,483.30 to $97,176.00 per year
