A consulting firm is seeking a Controls Technician – Protection & Control (P&C) to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of protection systems in power substations. Ideal for candidates with 0–3 years of experience, this field-based role offers opportunities for training and career growth. Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience as a Controls Technician or in a similar technical role.
• Experience with AC and DC electrical systems.
• Willingness to work in field environments such as substations.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying systems.
• Perform calibration and functional testing of protection and control relays.
• Assist in developing and maintaining protection and control documentation.
• Support project leads with field activities and work assignments.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings

Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications

Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
