Job summary

Nestlé Purina PetCare in Crete, Nebraska is hiring a Controls Tech Specialist II to troubleshoot, maintain and enhance PLC and PC-based automation systems on production lines. You will oversee PLC upgrades, wiring modifications, and support the maintenance team with controls improvements.

Expect to work on 2nd or 3rd shift, with on-call rotation. The role requires a strong background in PLCs, HMI systems and electrical or industrial maintenance, plus a technical degree or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

5+ years’ applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or HMI-systems in controls, automation, electrical, or industrial maintenance environments
Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with 3+ years’ applicable experience and on-call rotation requirement

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot automation systems and provide instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA support to maintenance staff
Execute plant and capital projects from conception to completion
Maintain up-to-date electrical and controls documentation
Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades
Perform Network and Data Administration tasks for PC-based control systems
Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for plant operation
Be available for on-call rotation during off hours
