- Shift: Sunday 4:00 PM until job completed; Monday – Thursday 6:00 PM until job completed
- Pay: $26.25 – $42.07 per hour, including shift differential
- Sign‑on Bonus: $2,000

Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Systems Manager, the Controls Technician supports the effective use and functionality of the automated equipment within a fully automated Distribution Center. The role includes diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues, performing testing, replacement or repair of electrical systems, and operating PLCs, HMI, and scanners. Duties also cover completion of equipment and instrumentation system testing, implementation of hard‑drive and network card installations, and ensuring compliance with all division and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures effective preventative maintenance plans and schedules for all facility equipment and systems.
- Diagnoses Materials Handling Equipment and Automated Picking System-related error conditions occurring in the Distribution Center and repairs appropriately.
- Oversees any maintenance, modifications, and/or system upgrades of Materials Handling Equipment and Automated Picking System controls.
- Assesses the efficiency of materials handling equipment and automated picking systems and defines necessary modifications.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure continued productivity with warehouse operations.
- Maintains CMMS/EAM system on repairs required and performed on equipment in the Distribution Center.
- Manages the inventory of spare parts.
- Willing to work extended hours as needed to meet productivity goals.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience & Education
- High School Diploma or GED (some technical vocational training or equivalent combination of experience and education a plus).
- Normally requires one to two years of related and progressively responsible experience; strong electrical background preferred.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and systems.
- Aptitude for repair and maintenance activities.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD layouts, illustrated parts breakdown diagrams, electrical circuitry diagrams, and drawings.
- Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical issues, including three‑phase or single‑phase electrical systems up to 600 volts, AC or DC motors, power supplies, frequency drives, servo drives, transformers, motor starters, proximity sensors, encoders, photo‑eyes, PLCs, HMIs, and PLC inputs/outputs.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) preferred; ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, and to load programs or configure PLCs, HMI, and scanners.
- Experience testing equipment and instrumentation systems, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, refrigeration, and water‑treatment chemicals.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and personal computers, and experience installing and setting up hard drives, RAM, network cards, monitor cards, and motherboards.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, IM) and material handling equipment software such as RSLogix, Sort Director, GSMi, IPoint, Flex Sort.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Positions typically semi‑skilled; ability to perform more than one trade within the Controls Tech I level.
