Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Systems Engineer to develop and document requirements for automotive systems, and to design and manage interfaces that enable component reuse and standardization. You will oversee cross‑functional requirements and support root cause analysis with other teams.

You will design tests to identify design improvements and document system vulnerabilities, creating mitigation plans and tracking corrective actions across programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Five years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or related role.
  • Five years of experience with Siemens CNC control systems, Siemens Step7, and Siemens HMI (WinCC).
  • Four years of experience with manufacturing process equipment, system engineering, and software development and hardware integration; FANUC Robotics including setup, programming, and debugging; and 3DL Vision, PLCs including Allen Bradley and Siemens, and Vision systems including Cognex and Keyence.

REQUIREMENTS:

Five years of experience with: Siemens CNC control systems, Siemens Step7, and Siemens HMI (WinCC); and FlexNet, Q-Das, and Thingworx. Four years of experience with: Manufacturing process equipment, system engineering, and software development and hardware integration; FANUC Robotics including setup, programming, and debug; and 3DL Vision, PLCs including Allen Bradley and Siemens, and Visions Systems including Cognex and Keyence.
