Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to lead PLC/automation projects in our Manufacturing Technology & Engineering division.

You will design and integrate PC and PLC controls, improve manufacturing data capture, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement advanced control systems. Applicants should have a BS in engineering and 5–10 years of industrial controls experience, with strong knowledge of MES/SCADA and major PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron).

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering required.
• 5–10 years in Industrial Controls demonstrated.
• MES/SCADA knowledge across layers to machine level.
• Experience programming PLCs and HMIs with major vendors.
• Proficiency with FT View, Ignition, iFix, Rockwell/Siemens/Omron.
• Understanding PID and advanced control concepts.
• Ability to work across teams and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and controls scope on automation projects.
• Design and integrate PC/PLC process controls in manufacturing.
• Develop data analysis and part-tracking capabilities (SCADA).
• Collaborate with PMs, vendors, and engineering to implement controls.
• Mentor teams and ensure coding standard compliance.
