Job summary

A leading global energy management firm in Lexington is seeking a Controls Specialist to support production processes. This role involves troubleshooting and improving control systems, including robotics and electrical controls. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years experience in the electrical field and a relevant degree. A strong knowledge of PLC programming and the ability to work shifts are essential. Job description

Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Controls Specialist! Be part of an innovative environment where you'll drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.

What will you do:
  • Controls/Technical support for various shift production including fabrication, metal finishing, and assembly, through troubleshooting and determining root causes for downtime events.
  • Production barrier identification and elimination for various levels of automation including stamping presses, welders, conveyors, automated assembly, and robotics.
  • Update, modify, and continuously improve existing controls systems including robotics, ladder logic programs, relay logic, electrical distribution, motor controls, operator interface, pneumatic/hydraulic distribution.
  • Coordinate with production and maintenance on existing machine control modifications or installations.
  • Create, maintain and keep current all documentation: electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics; panel layouts; PLC, operator display, operator interface, and robot programs.
  • Implement and maintain data collection system for shop floor production equipment.
What will make you successful:
  • Minimum 2 Year College Degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the Electrical field.
  • Must be opened to working 2nd shift and weekends.
  • Experience with Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Systems.
  • Strong PLC programming skills.
  • Electrical/Mechanical CAD Experience.
  • Motion Control Experience.
  • Robot programming Experience.
  • Machine Vision Experience.
  • Ability to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
