Job summary

GROB Systems, Inc in Bluffton, OH, is seeking a Controls Software Engineer to develop machine software, simulate systems, and support vision applications. An initial two-year training phase with a Senior Designer is included to learn company solutions.

Responsibilities include generating PLC, robot, vision, and HMI packages while evaluating customer specs and applying IEC/ISO and NFPA standards. Travel both domestically and internationally is expected.

Qualifications

• Computer programming experience (C#, Visual Basic)
• Knowledge of electrical design
• Siemens PLC knowledge is a plus
• Knowledge of industrial robotics is a plus

The primary job function of the Controls Software Engineer will be to work in several aspects of industrial controls engineering. Some of these aspects include machine software development, creation, and support, machine simulation, vision applications or other specialized focuses. An initial training phase of working with a Senior Designer for up to two years will occur to learn how to develop machine and equipment solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Understand and perform all controls engineering tasks


• Support Senior Designers and Project Engineers


• Generate software solutions, such as PLC, Robot, Vision and HMI packages


• Evaluation of customer specifications and their impact to GROB’s products


• Apply international (IEC, ISO) and national (NFPA) standards

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering


• Knowledge of electrical design


• Computer programming experience (C#, Visual Basic)


• Siemens PLC knowledge is a plus


• Knowledge of industrial robotics is a plus

General Requirements

• Self-motivated and team player


• Excellent oral and written communication skills


• Strong math skills and understanding of basic electrical circuits


• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)


• Willing to work overtime as needed


• Willing to travel domestic and international
