Job summary

EMCOR Services NY/NJ in New York, NY, is seeking a Controls Service Technician to complete service calls on existing BMS, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Role requires hands-on experience with HVAC controls, DDC systems, and building automation, including software programming, tuning, and commissioning of BAS. Collaboration with service managers and ongoing energy-saving initiatives are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in HVAC controls, DDC systems commissioning, software integration, calibration and pneumatic controls.
• Experience with Honeywell Niagara/Tridium N4 is preferred.
• Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, N4 Workbench, AutoCAD, and various OS.
• Track record of completing projects with self-motivation and customer satisfaction.
• Experience deploying and commissioning building automation, DDC, energy management and controls systems hardware/software.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS.
• Install, troubleshoot and repair system components including sensors, actuators, controllers, and networking devices.
• Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without direct oversight.
• Perform functional testing and system validation.
• Communicate with customers to evaluate service needs and maintain scheduling.
• Monitor buildings to ensure optimum performance and implement new programs/sequences.
• Identify opportunities for building enhancements and perform upgrades or retrofits.
• Perform software programming, start-up, tuning and commissioning of BAS.
• Be proficient with VAVs, Exhaust Fans, AHUs, Chiller systems, and related equipment.
• Stay informed on energy savings strategies.

Job Summary

EMCOR Services NY/NJ has an opportunity for a Controls Service Technician. The Controls Services Technician is responsible for completing service calls while maintaining positive client relations.

Scope

Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS, install, troubleshoot, and repair system components including sensors, actuators, controllers, and networking devices. Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without direct oversight. Perform functional testing and system validation. Effectively communicate with customers to evaluate service needs, maintain proper scheduling and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Monitor customer buildings to ensure optimum performance standards are being achieved. Fine tune systems as new programs and sequences are introduced. Identify opportunities for additional building enhancements and perform upgrades and/or small scale retrofits on existing systems. Perform building surveys and work with Service Manager on estimating additional work. Perform necessary software programming, equipment start-up, tuning and calibration and commissioning of BAS. Be proficient in knowledge of following equipment: VAVs, Exhaust Fans, Unit Vents, AHUs, Hot Water Systems, Chiller Water Systems. • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications
• Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills
• Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, N4 Workbench, AutoCAD, and various operating systems
• Proven track record of completing projects, being self-motivated and achieving customer satisfaction
• Deploy, revise, checkout, and commission building automation, DDC, energy management and controls systems hardware, software and documentation

The salary range for this position is 70K to 100K depending on experience.
