Job summary

EMCOR Services New York/New Jersey is seeking a Controls Service Technician to perform service calls on building management systems, install and calibrate components, and ensure customer satisfaction. The role includes troubleshooting, functional testing and commissioning of BAS, with opportunities to upgrade systems and optimize energy performance.

Responsibilities include field service on VAVs, AHUs, chillers and related equipment, effective communication with customers, and ongoing

Qualifications

• Field experience in HVAC controls including DDC systems commissioning, software integration, operation and calibration.
• Experience with Honeywell Niagara/Tridium N4 preferred.
• Understanding of the construction industry with emphasis in mechanical/electrical.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Strong communication, organizational and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, N4 Workbench, AutoCAD and related software.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS.
• Install, troubleshoot and repair system components including sensors, actuators, controllers, and networking devices.
• Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies when needed.
• Perform functional testing and system validation.
• Communicate with customers to evaluate service needs and maintain scheduling.
• Monitor buildings to ensure optimum performance and fine tune systems.
• Identify opportunities for building enhancements and upgrades.
• Perform BAS commissioning, software programming, start-up, tuning and calibration.

Scope

EMCOR Services NY/NJ has an opportunity for a Controls Service Technician. The Controls Services Technician is responsible for completing service calls while maintaining positive client relations.

Duties

• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and emergency service calls on existing BMS


• Install, troubleshoot and repair system components including sensors, actuators, controllers, and networking devices


• Troubleshoot installations and correct deficiencies without direct


• Perform functional testing and system validation


• Effectively communicate with customers to evaluate service needs, maintain proper scheduling and ensure high levels of customer


• Monitor customer buildings to ensure optimum performance standards are being achieved. Fine tune systems as new programs and sequences are


• Identify opportunities for additional building enhancements and perform upgrades and/or small scale retrofits on existing systems.


• Perform building surveys and work with Service Manager on estimating additional


• Perform necessary software programming, equipment start-up, tuning and calibration and commissioning of BAS


• Be proficient in knowledge of following equipment: VAVs, Exhaust Fans, Unit Vents, AHUs, Hot Water Systems, Chiller Water Systems, and


• Stay informed of industry developments for energy savings strategies.


• Effectively provide feedback to supervisor for ways to improve the installation
