Overview

Our Automation and Controls Specialists are instrumental in building long-term customer relationships, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customer-building systems. They will develop, build, test, and commission building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Develop, build, test, and commission building controls systems to include programming equipment, condenser water plant sequence of operations, and modifications to the graphical interface.
• Participate in controls engineering review and provide input on design to identify gaps in sequence operability.
• Leverage Niagara software tools such as the program service, BQL, and service suite to optimize productivity.
• Perform in-depth hardware troubleshooting techniques, such as accessing defective hardware CLI through a serial connection.
• Perform BAS service and maintenance, including diagnosing and repairing control systems malfunctions.
• Respond to BAS emergencies during off-hours.
• Prepare documentation and reports of work status and completion.
• Must complete Pathway and pass performance checkout, as well as hold the role for a minimum of 12 months, until you can progress to Controls Service Tech 3.
• Hold and manage 200 annual contract hours.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience with Tridium Niagara, Trane, and/or Distech), as well as any additional professional experience with1 or more BAS control platform, such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and/or Siemens.
• At least 1 year of experience in developing, building, testing, and commissioning complete building control systems, including the graphical interface, from the ground up.
• Working knowledge of the installation, operation, and repair of commercial HVAC and control equipment.
• Working knowledge of electrical circuits and systems.
• High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Distech GFX Certification.
• Tridium Niagara 4 Certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

• Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.
• Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction warehouse hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
• Moderate physical effort. It requires the handling of objects of an average weight of up to 75 pounds and extensive sitting. Some walking and standing.
