Control Solutions Group, Inc. in New York City seeks a Controls Sales Estimator for Building Management Systems to join our NYC team.

You will collaborate with engineering and sales to review MEP drawings and determine BMS scope, and develop comprehensive cost estimates including labor, materials, electrical installation, and panel fabrication. The role requires 2–3 years of estimating experience in Building Management and Temperature Controls, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with CRM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EE, ME, CE, Math or Physics.
• 2–3 years of estimating experience in Building Management and Temperature Controls.
• Ability to treat sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality. Possess skills and understanding in conceptual estimating.
• Above average proficiency in MS Office, Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of estimating software programs.
• Knowledge of Visio and or AutoCAD a plus.
• Knowledge of CRM and Bid Tracer a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn HVAC and BMS controls fundamentals with Engineering to understand BMS applications.
• Review MEP drawings with Sales to determine BMS scope of work.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates using Estimating tools including labor, materials, and panel fabrication.

• Submit bids and budgets by the bid deadline to contractors and owners.
• Create technical proposals for sealed bid packages.

Job Summary

Control Solutions Group, Inc., an EMCOR Group company, seeks an Controls Sales Estimator, Building Management Systems (BMS)experienced in Building Management Systems (BMS) to join our New York City team.

In this role, the Controls Sales Estimator will collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to review MEP drawings and determine the full scope of building automation projects. This role is responsible for developing comprehensive cost estimates—including labor, materials, electrical installation, and panel fabrication—by gathering and analyzing pricing from vendors and subcontractors. Additionally, the position involves managing subcontractor bid coverage, ensuring accurate pricing, and creating technical proposals to meet strict submission deadlines.

Experience with controls, BMS, BAS, DDC, Building Automation, Building Management, EPMS and Energy Management Systems is preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• As a pre-requisite to estimating, work with Engineering team to learn HVAC and BMS Controls fundamentals to understand BMS and the application of Controls to HVAC equipment utilizing CSG engineering standards.
• Work with Sales Executives to review MEP’s (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) drawings to determine the BMS Controls scope of work.
• Work with Sales Executives to prepare detailed costs estimate utilizing CSG Estimating tools including costs for equipment counts, electrical installation, wiring, equipment, itemized breakdowns of labor, materials and panel fabrication.
• Gather and analyze pricing information from vendors, sub-contractors and internal resources to develop compressive cost estimates.
• Work with Sales Executives to Solicits and maintains communication with mechanical and electrical subcontractors and vendors. Ensures that we have the proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day.
• Follow-up with contractors to ensure that bids are received.
• Ensures all bids are priced correctly by subcontractors and vendors i.e. Tax Exempt. Confirm pricing received reflects the correct scope of work.
• Submits bids and budgets by the bid deadline to mechanical contractors and building owners.
• Work with Sales Executives to create Technical Proposals for sealed bid packages
• Collaborate across functions to manage cost and price factors that influence customer acquisition, retention, and revenue.
