Job description

As a Vice President Product Manager within the Controls Room Team in Control Management, you will lead the end-to-end product development of a new, ground-up application in the Control Management space. You will partner closely with other control disciplines to oversee existing control capabilities while designing and implementing new control functions and protocols. You will unify reference hierarchies across compliance and operational risk frameworks to promote consistency, interoperability, and operational efficiency.

Our development approach is spec-driven and includes rapid prototyping, leveraging Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot (in accordance with firm-approved tooling and controls). You will design AI-first features that embed intelligent assistance directly into core control workflows. You will collaborate with stakeholders across lines of business and corporate functions to collect, analyze, and monitor firmwide risk-based intelligence. You will empower the three lines of defense with timely, risk-based information to manage and enhance their control environments. You will contribute to maintaining a strong and consistent control environment by supporting early operational risk identification, effective control design, and sustainable risk mitigation solutions. You will help the Controls Room deliver cost-effective, automated reporting and actionable insights that improve decision-making across the firm. You will provide clear views into risks and issues, ensuring corporate and business teams are set up for long-term success.

Control Management maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk.

The Controls Room gathers information from key business and technology partners in order to:

Facilitate better decision making and actionable insights across the Firm.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Drive cross functional teams through the product development of a new application being built from the ground up in the Control Management space to deliver against the PONY roadmap
  • Lead the product focus on unifying reference hierarchies across compliance and operational risk frameworks, aligning stakeholders on definitions, standards, and adoption
  • Translate higher level strategy and requirements from internal stakeholders into actionable tasks for Product Owners and Agile development teams
  • Drive and oversee a spec-driven delivery process, ensuring high-quality product requirements (e.g., user stories, acceptance criteria) and rapid prototyping cycles leveraging Claude and/or GitHub Copilot (in accordance with firm-approved tooling and controls)
  • Ensure the product roadmap is AI-first, partnering with technology teams to embed intelligent assistance and automation into core workflows
  • Manage relationships with Line of Business and Function Leads and key stakeholders to build out and maintain long-term roadmaps
  • Partner with the Program Management team to ensure the Product’s progress is reported accurately on status reports
  • Provide subject matter expertise and impact analysis for projects driven by the Control Management organization to influence end-to-end implementation across the Controls Room teams
  • Manage and participate in multiple project workstreams concurrently to proactively enhance outcomes, identify effective solutions, and mitigate issues
  • Present roadmaps, technology solutions, and status updates on various forums with senior stakeholders
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
  • Quantitative background (BA/BS in Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering) with 6+ years of experience working with technology partners to develop products
  • Advanced experience translating user requests to technology requirements using agile management tools like JIRA
  • Prior application of the agile methodology for product development
  • Experience driving delivery across cross-functional teams, managing dependencies, and influencing outcomes without direct authority
  • Experience with AI-assisted development and prototyping tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) in line with approved tooling/controls
  • Experience implementing AI capabilities including agentic workflows
