Job Description

What you will do:

As the Controls Product Manager, you will own all controls-related products including AERprocess, VFDs, AERtronic, and products of the Industrial Control Panel. Your responsibilities will include marketing research, competitor analysis, pricing, and both internal & external training. This role requires close collaboration with Electrical & Controls Engineering teams and the Sales Team to ensure successful implementation in customer solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Conduct market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to inform product improvements and marketing strategies.
  2. Provide marketing with product information (features, benefits, ROI) and develop marketing plans and collateral.
  3. Create requirements for new products, coordinate with sales, engineering, and sourcing to develop solutions, and maintain product roadmaps.
  4. Utilize CRM tools like Salesforce for real-time data collection.
  5. Train sales and service teams on product applications, solutions, and competitive advantages.
  6. Support development of best practices for project startup, including controls.
  7. Facilitate customer training programs and seminars on our products and their value.
  8. Provide quotes and technical support for products; train Application Engineering teams on quoting processes; assist with pricing strategies.
  9. Collaborate with Electrical Engineering on Industrial Control Panel launches and sourcing strategies.
  10. Support quality issues, gather data, identify root causes, and suggest improvements.
  11. Estimate product line profitability with finance, considering costs and aftersales profit.
  12. Manage the entire product lifecycle, ensuring continuous improvement and market alignment.
  13. Work with Supply Chain to develop parts lists supporting lead times, localization, and spare parts.
  14. Engage with peers to provide comprehensive solutions to customers.
  15. Support global growth initiatives in controls and control panel products, working with various teams under leadership guidance.

The role may include other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.

Experience: 3-5 years in sales engineering or engineering design, with experience in Control Systems or VFDs preferred.

Skills: Excellent planning, communication, organization, attention to detail, data analysis, problem-solving, and time management skills. Willingness to travel 25-35% and adapt to weather conditions.

Technical Skills: Strong problem-solving mindset, proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office, familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider is a plus. Ability to learn new software systems.
