Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Controls Manager to lead building management systems (BMS) and EPMS deployment for our Ohio data centers.

You will manage the onsite engineering team, shape project scopes, and ensure safe, reliable facilities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world‑class infrastructure. Key qualifications include 3+ years in management with 5+ direct reports, a mechanical or electrical engineering degree (or equivalent), and extensive controls

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a management role with 5+ direct reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) plus 8+ years of controls experience, OR 12+ years of controls experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in controls management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
  • 3+ years of experience hiring, promoting, coaching, and developing teams of technical professionals.

The Controls Deployment and Service team is looking for exceptional individuals to join our organization as a Controls Manager, responsible for the building management systems and electrical power monitoring system (BMS/EPMS) deployment and service within Amazon data centers. Key Job Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering science plus 8+ years of relevant controls experience, OR 12+ years of relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of experience in controls management of large, complex projects involving large-scale mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
  • 3+ years of experience hiring, promoting, coaching, and developing teams of technical professionals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of work in a management position with 5 or more direct reports.
  • Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units.
  • 6+ years directly managing, mentoring, leading, and coaching teams of controls professionals.
  • 8+ years of Project Management and Vendor Management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Center system‑level architecture and electrical engineering principles.
  • 3+ years of experience in Data Center system‑level architecture and mechanical engineering principles.

Our base salary range is 129,200.00 - 193,000.00 USD annually (USA, OH, Dublin). Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. We also offer comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and optional supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
