Job summary

Kautex in Detroit, MI, is seeking a Maintenance Technician II (Controls) to inspect, test and troubleshoot plant equipment, performing preventive and predictive maintenance and supporting safe operation of automation systems.

You will troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens), work with pneumatics, hydraulics and robotics, and collaborate with production and engineering teams. Weekend/overtime is required; a technical training background is essential to succeed.

Qualifications

Technical training or certificates preferred.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Experience with precision measuring tools.
Ability to pass mechanical aptitude and practical tests.

Responsibilities

Inspect, test and troubleshoot plant equipment and perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment using Siemens PLCs and ladder logic.
Work with pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics to support maintenance.
Safely perform maintenance following Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE rules.
Collaborate with production, engineering and quality teams on line improvements.
Perform repairs, installations, adjustments and modifications to meet plant standards.
Operate manlifts, scissor lifts and forklifts as required.
Help reduce downtime and improve safety, quality and uptime on assembly lines.
