Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Controls Engineering Intern to assist design, programming, testing and commissioning of controls systems. You will work with the Controls Lead and engineers to support project objectives and report to the Controls Engineering Manager.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering, strong troubleshooting and programming skills, ability to read schematics, and excellent communication. Travel 50-75% domestically is expected.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing engineering bachelor's degree with coursework in control systems or related field.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose issues quickly.
• Solid programming experience relevant to controls or automation.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and prints.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

The Controls Engineering Intern will work closely with the Controls Lead and Controls engineers to support the team in the overall project objectives. The Controls Engineering Intern reports directly to the Controls Engineering Manager.

Job Functions

• Work closely with other controls engineers to understand the design and coding requirements.
• Work with engineers on how to create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Must have great communication skills. This will be paramount in internal communication as well as discussions with other engineers and
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Maintain a consistently positive, enthusiastic attitude!
• Keep an open mind; be creative with concepts. Encourage entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among others.
• Anticipate problems and be able to proactively act rather than react.
• Maintain office area clean and organized.
• Complete all administrative tasks/paperwork in a timely manner.
• Works well with engineering and manufacturing teams. Pitch’s in where needed.

Travel Requirements

• 50-75% overnight domestic travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)

Required Qualifications And Preferred Skills

• Currently pursuing Bachelor degree in a engineering discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Strong Programming skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• PLC experience with a class/course or previous internship
• Ability to read schematics/electrical prints
• Demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude
• Strong ability to interact with computers
• Good communication skills
• Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
