Job summary

Toyota Automated Logistics is seeking a Controls Engineering Intern to contribute to all phases of engineering for our automation projects. You will design, program, test, and commission systems under the guidance of the Controls Engineering Manager.

The role requires collaboration with controls engineers, proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Expect significant travel and hands-on experience in a growing automation environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Strong programming skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• PLC experience or coursework.
• Ability to read schematics/electrical prints.
• Demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude.
• Strong computer interaction skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Eligibility to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.

Job Overview

A Controls Engineering Intern is responsible for all phases of engineering for Toyota Automated Logistics. The duties include are designing, programming, testing and commissioning. The Controls Engineering Intern will work closely with the Controls Lead and Controls engineers to support the team in the overall project objectives. The Controls Engineering Intern reports directly to the Controls Engineering Manager.

The Controls Engineering Intern will work closely with the Controls Lead and Controls engineers to support the team in the overall project objectives. The Controls Engineering Intern reports directly to the Controls Engineering Manager.

Job Functions

• Work closely with other controls engineers to understand the design and coding requirements.
• Work with engineers on how to create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Must have great communication skills. This will be paramount in internal communication as well as discussions with other engineers and
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Maintain a consistently positive, enthusiastic attitude!
• Keep an open mind; be creative with concepts. Encourage entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among others.
• Anticipate problems and be able to proactively act rather than react.
• Maintain office area clean and organized.
• Complete all administrative tasks/paperwork in a timely manner.
• Works well with engineering and manufacturing teams. Pitch’s in where needed.

Travel Requirements

• 50-75% overnight domestic travel (Travel expenses paid by Toyota Automated Logistics)
