Job summary

Exowatt Inc. in Miami, FL is seeking an Associate/Embedded Engineer to develop PLC software and embedded firmware for energy storage systems. You will implement safety interlocks, test control software, and contribute to EMS/SCADA interfaces while maintaining robust CI/CD practices.

The role requires PLC and firmware experience, familiarity with Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000, strong C/C++ skills, and knowledge of industrial networking. Relocation assistance is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Electrical, Controls, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2–6 years of experience in PLC programming and/or embedded firmware development.
• Proficiency with Siemens TIA Portal / Rockwell Studio 5000 (or similar).
• Strong coding skills in C/C++ (Rust/Python a plus).
• Experience with GitHub workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing.
• Familiarity with utility-scale energy systems or DERs.
• Understanding of industrial networking and protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, DNP3, MQTT).

Responsibilities

• Develop and test PLC programs for system, module, and site-level controllers.
• Design and implement embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers; ensure real-time operation.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for PLC code, firmware, and test automation.
• Map controls data into historians, HMIs, and cloud telemetry; support integration, commissioning, and field validation.
