Job summary

Pyramid Software LLC, a Duravant Company, is seeking a Controls Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers in designing and supporting material handling automation systems. You will manage projects, set technical standards, and drive safe, compliant execution.

Responsibilities include resource planning, budgeting, documentation, and collaboration with executives to shape strategic technical direction. Occasional travel and cross-functional leadership are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; MBA preferred
  • 6+ years in progressive industrial controls or automation engineering
  • 3+ years in a direct leadership role
  • Strong proficiency with PLCs and ladder logic; MS Office and communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility
  • Allocate engineering resources to meet objectives and budgets
  • Oversee proposals, expenditures, and policy enforcement
  • Mentor engineers and develop talent; recruit and train as needed
  • Establish and approve documentation, processes, and workflow improvements
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and drive technical standards
  • Interact with executive team to provide strategic technical input
  • Improve efficiency and reliability of engineering workflow
  • Provide design documentation approvals and project design basis

Your responsibilities include managing engineering resources, driving technical standards, overseeing capital projects, mentoring engineering talent, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.Essential Responsibilities:Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinates as appropriate.Allocate engineering resources to successfully accomplish company objectives and priorities and identify needs for successful completion of projects.Perform administrative and oversight functions in approving proposals, expenditures, and policy enforcement.Day-to-day interaction and management of engineering team and manage recruiting, hiring, training.Establish and approve documentation and processes.Manage engineering team effectively to project timelines and budgets and ensure product/project best industry practices.Provide insight on strategic technical focus to executive team.Establish documentation and processes to improve efficiency and reliability of engineering workflow.Ownership of the technical content generated by the engineering department and critical input to effectively solve engineering problems.Approve design documentation including project design basis, specifications, drawings, and calculations.Manage multiple concurrent engineering projects, delegating authority and responsibility to subordinates as appropriate.Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished.
