Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Controls Engineer with aseptic experience to support PLCs, HMI/SCADA, and robotics across aseptic lines in Manteca, CA. The role emphasizes reliability, safety and process improvements on filling and packaging lines.

You will plan upgrades, install new equipment, and collaborate with engineering, operations and maintenance while supporting after-hours shifts as part of a rotation. This position offers solid benefits and growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4–6 years of controls, electrical or automation experience in manufacturing.
  • At least two years in aseptic processing and packaging systems.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs.
  • Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms such as Ignition or Wonderware.
  • Knowledge of motion control, VFDs, safety hardware and instrumentation.
  • Experience with robotics and vision systems (Cognex/Keyence).
  • Experience installing, commissioning and troubleshooting packaging equipment.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70, NFPA 70E and electrical-safety standards.
  • AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, safety controllers, robotics, motion-control systems, VFDs, instrumentation and industrial networks.
  • Provide controls support for aseptic processing, filling, packaging and material-handling equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment and control-system issues to minimize downtime and improve production reliability.
  • Program, test and implement controls modifications and equipment enhancements.
  • Support MES, production data-collection systems and related computer hardware and software.
  • Plan and manage upgrades, overhauls and conversions involving aseptic filling and processing lines.
  • Install, commission and troubleshoot new or modified processing and packaging equipment.
  • Follow established plant electrical and controls standards.
  • Support change-management processes for equipment and controls improvements.
  • Train operations and maintenance personnel on aseptic systems.
  • Partner with engineering, operations and maintenance to address production needs and improve safety, quality and performance.
  • Participate in rotating after-hours engineering support.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical education and experience.
  • 4–6 years of controls, electrical or automation experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • At least two years of experience with aseptic processing and packaging systems.
  • Experience with Tetra Pak equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience programming and troubleshooting Allen‑Bradley/Rockwell PLCs.
  • Experience with HMI and SCADA platforms such as Ignition or Wonderware.
  • Working knowledge of motion control, VFDs, safety hardware and industrial instrumentation.
  • Experience with robotics and vision‑inspection systems such as Cognex or Keyence.
  • Experience installing, commissioning and troubleshooting processing and packaging equipment.
  • Understanding of food‑processing and packaging operations and applicable FDA requirements.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E and relevant electrical‑safety standards.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Availability to provide occasional after‑hours support as part of a rotating schedule.
