Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller Design Group seeks an automation engineer to develop and implement automation solutions for capital projects and manufacturing operations. Travel to client sites is required.

You will design, configure, test, commission, and start up control systems, work with PLC/HMI/SCADA platforms, and coordinate with project stakeholders to meet schedules.

Candidates need 5+ years in automation and a technical degree; willingness to travel; strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automation experience in HMI, SCADA, PLCs and control system design.
• Experience creating and designing automation control systems including PLC and SCADA.
• Familiarity with industrial control panel design and fabrication, instrumentation, and engineering docs such as P&IDs and process flow diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automation solutions for capital projects and manufacturing operations.
• Design, configure, test, commission, and start up integrated control systems with clients, vendors, and project teams.
• Program PLCs and HMI/SCADA systems (Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, FactoryTalk, Cimplicity, Wonderware, Ignition).
• Prepare project documentation and drawings meeting client requirements.
• Coordinate site construction, installation, and start-up support for integrated control systems.
• Validate and commission facility systems using established execution protocols.
