Job summary

LAPORTE L.E.I. is seeking an Intermediate Controls Engineer to join our West Chester team. This role supports controls and automation projects across pharmaceutical and food & beverage industries, including PLC/HMI/SCADA programming and control system documentation.

You will read P&IDs, develop I/O lists, and collaborate with Process and Electrical Design teams to meet customer specifications. Access to a broad suite of industrial controls tools and growth opportunities is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering/CS field is required.
• 2+ years in industrial controls or system integration is preferred.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and programming software is required.
• Knowledge of NEC/UL508A and control panel design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Programming of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems for continuous, discrete and batch processes.
• Industrial network specification and design (Ethernet, Modbus, IO-Link).
• Collaborate with Process/Electrical Design to identify control system specs.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and process docs to assist control specs.
• Generate and maintain I/O Lists, Process Narratives, FDS, commissioning forms, etc.
