Job summary

Prysmian is hiring a Controls Engineer to enhance plant automation, SCADA, and data systems at the Rocky Mount, NC facility. You will support PLC/ HMI, industrial networks, and troubleshooting while driving upgrades and new equipment integration.

The role focuses on reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across safety, quality, uptime, and throughput, in a team dedicated to modernizing automation and data systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical, controls, automation engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on controls engineering in manufacturing.
• Strong expertise with Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix/CompactLogix), Studio 5000, HMI, and Ethernet/IP/VLANs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC programs and HMI applications.
• Lead SCADA development, dashboards, and data flows across systems.
• Lead automation upgrades, retrofits, and new equipment installations; define controls specs and ensure vendor compliance.
• Support maintenance to improve troubleshooting, reliability, and uptime; provide training and standard work; contribute to safety, quality and throughput improvements.
