ITAC seeks a full-time Controls Engineer for a twelve-month on-site assignment in Richmond, VA. You will design, implement, and maintain automated control systems, troubleshoot PLCs, and drive reliability improvements in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of experience in industrial controls, hands-on Rockwell PLC programming, and familiarity with HMI/SCADA, VFDs, and electrical drawings. ITAC values collaboration across operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years in industrial controls, automation, or electrical engineering in manufacturing.
• Hands-on with Rockwell PLCs; experience with ladder logic and automation systems.
• Familiar with HMI/SCADA and industrial networking protocols.

Responsibilities

• Program, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLCs and related control systems.
• Develop and optimize PLC ladder logic and control strategies.
• Design, support, and troubleshoot HMI/SCADA applications for industrial processes.
• Analyze and resolve control system and instrumentation issues to improve reliability.
• Prepare engineering documentation, I/O lists, diagrams, and panel layouts.
• Support MCCs, VFDs, electrical distribution, and panel installations.
