Job summary
Nationwide Technical Search seeks a skilled Controls Engineer for its Victor, IA site. This onsite, permanent role focuses on supporting automated manufacturing equipment, troubleshooting control systems, and driving upgrades to minimize downtime.
The ideal candidate holds a BS in Electrical/Controls Engineering with hands-on PLC programming (Allen-Bradley), HMI (FactoryTalk View), and robotics experience, plus CAD drafting and electrical diagnostics. Relocation assistance is available.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or equivalent.
- Experience in manufacturing/industrial automation environments.
- Strong PLC programming (Allen-Bradley) and HMI development (FactoryTalk View).
- Hands-on robotics experience with ABB or Panasonic, including motion and sensors.
- Ability to read/modify electrical schematics, CAD drawings, and wiring diagrams.
Responsibilities
- Design, program, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI interfaces.
- Support and optimize robotic systems and automated work cells.
- Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures on the plant floor.
- Develop and maintain CAD drawings, wiring, and control documentation.
- Lead equipment upgrades and software migrations plant-wide.
- Provide mentoring to maintenance staff on repair and troubleshooting.
