Job summary

Ground Effects LLC in Michigan seeks a PLC/Automation Engineer to design and develop PLC and HMI software, mentor entry level technicians, and lead projects from concept through commissioning.

You will create electrical schematics, layouts, and control sequences, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and contribute to MES initiatives and production improvements across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or better in Engineering.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willingness to travel across North America.
• Experience in PLC and HMI design preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead PLC and HMI software design and development.
• Coordinate with cross-functional groups to meet project schedules.
• Create proposals, develop scope, costs, and initial design.
• Produce electrical and controls drawings, PLC I/O layouts, and manuals.
• Develop control programs and sequences of operations.
• Coordinate electrical/instrumentation design with vendors and internal PMs.
• Support startup and commissioning of new equipment.
• Provide ongoing technical support with commissioning and validation.
