Job summary
KLA Industries, Inc. in the Oneida, NY area seeks a Controls Engineer to design and develop machine control systems.
You will size and select VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs, and HMIs, using AutoCAD. Qualifications
- AAS or BS in Engineering and 5+ years of experience.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code and machine safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop machine control systems using AutoCAD, including sizing and selection of VFDs, motors, filters, protection devices, PLCs, and HMIs.
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs and ladder logic systems, and support Siemens controls.
- Lead installation, integration, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment across local facilities (≈30% travel).
- Provide hands-on electrical and controls troubleshooting to maintenance teams, including diagnostics and upgrades.
- Connect to equipment, diagnose control system issues, and modify PLC logic to support production improvements.
