Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission control systems for industrial clients. The role involves PLC, DCS, RTU programming, HMI/SCADA development, and database integration.

You will develop architecture, select components, and document systems while collaborating with project teams and leading technical efforts; willingness to travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Control, Mechanical, Chemical Eng, or CS.
• 5+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Proficient in ladder logic, SFC, and structured text.
• Experience programming PLC, DCS, RTU and HMI/SCADA.
• Familiar with NEC standards and electrical schematics.
• Experience with networking (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
• Willing to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, detail and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
• Develop control system architecture and select components; create diagrams and docs.
• Program PLC, DCS, RTU and HMI/SCADA systems; develop data histories.
• Lead commissioning and support projects; mentor junior staff as needed.
• Collaborate with clients and teams to meet project requirements.
