Job summary

Suburban Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, commission, and support automation solutions at customer facilities. You will lead projects, develop schematics and BOMs, and mentor others to deliver safe, reliable control systems.

The role requires 3+ years in industrial electrical/controls and strong Rockwell/AutoCAD Electrical skills. We offer ESOP and a clear path for advancement in a team‑oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or electrical engineering related field.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in industrial electrical, controls, automation, instrumentation, or electromechanical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and motor controls.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop estimates, scopes of work, and proposals for customer automation projects.
• Create detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Program, test, and troubleshoot industrial automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, drives).
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA 79, NEC, ISO 13849.
• Provide high‑level technical support to internal and external customers.
• Lead multiple concurrent automation projects within time, scope, and budget.
