Job summary

Suburban Enterprises in Wisconsin is seeking a Controls Engineer who will design, program, commission and support automation solutions for customer facilities. This role provides technical leadership across the project life cycle, working with customers, project managers, technicians, electricians, and engineers to deliver safe, reliable automation.

You will estimate project scopes, create detailed designs with AutoCAD Electrical, program and commission PLCs/HMI systems, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical, controls, automation, instrumentation, or electromechanical systems.
Extensive experience troubleshooting industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, motors).
Experience programming Rockwell PLCs and HMIs.
Ability to read/modify electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical.

Responsibilities

Estimate scope and proposals for customer automation projects.
Create detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical.
Program, test, and troubleshoot automation systems (PLCs, HMIs, drives).
Ensure designs meet NFPA 79, NEC, ISO 13849 standards.
Provide high-level technical support to internal/external customers.
Lead multiple automation projects on time, within scope and budget.
