Job summary

Dematic seeks an experienced electrical engineering professional in Grand Rapids to translate contract requirements into engineering deliverables and manage complex projects. The role requires delivering design schematics, control panels, and commissioning of integrated systems within budget and schedule.

You will coordinate with project management, ME, and procurement, ensuring quality and compliance with engineering practices. Travel up to 40% to US locations is expected.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in electrical engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years of successful experience in the related field.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; Rockwell PLCs hardware and software.
• Knowledge of AC drives (open and closed loop).
• Experience with Ethernet IP network design.
• Exceptional customer focus and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% to US customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Translate project contractual technical requirements into deliverables and tasks for engineering teams (design/layout, emulation, order entry, drawings, commissioning).
• Ensure all deliverables and solutions meet quality standards, processes, and established engineering practices.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues impacting engineering tasks to prevent project delays.
• Monitor and manage project team performance to ensure KPIs are achieved.
• Deliver assigned work packages on time and within budget, as defined by the Project Manager.
• Act as the main point of contact for project management, Mechanical Engineering, mechanical and electrical installation, procurement, and manufacturing regarding engineering deliverables.
• Collaborate with ME and other CE Leads to ensure third-party specifications and resale component requirements are accurate and complete.
• Track engineering progress against schedule; report updates with ME/CE Leads.
• Prepare project status reports, financial forecasts, and schedule updates.
• Support project risk management by documenting, escalating, and mitigating risks.
• Lead technical reviews and conduct post-mortems with project managers to drive continuous improvement.
• Completes the design of schematics and control panels.
• Completes the commissioning of complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
• Completes recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $96,800.00 - $145,200.00 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

What We Are Looking For

• BS/BA in electrical engineering or closely related field
• 5+ years of successful experience in related field.
• Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
• Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
• Proficient in AutoCAD a plus.
• Proficient in either Rockwell PLCs, hardware and software
• Knowledgeable on AC drives, both open & closed loop.
• Experience in Ethernet IP network design
• Exceptional customer focus and ability to deliver results.
• Demonstrated problem solver with excellent communication skills.
