The position involves 50% troubleshooting and 50% project work, including design drawings, automation upgrades, and on‑site/off‑site tasks, with emphasis on solving downtime and driving process improvements.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or bachelor’s degree; electrical engineering degree is a huge plus.
  • 2+ years of experience with industrial control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with Siemens PLC (SIMATIC) and/or other PLC programming experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production plant or machine building; knowledge of robotics troubleshooting is highly preferred; Fanuc robot and Cognex camera experience.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to carry‑over issues from previous shifts or help with maintenance breakdowns.
  • Diagnose equipment downtime and assist with recovery.
  • Plug into PLCs, read logic, and identify root causes.
  • Collaborate with operators and maintenance to restore functionality.
  • Support corrective action plans and process improvements.
  • Participate in meetings and offline programming tasks.
  • Design drawings and contribute to automation upgrades.
  • Work on the floor and at your desk depending on project phase.

Skills and Requirements
  • HS diploma or bachelors degree (electrical engineering degree is a huge plus)

  • 2+ years of experience with industrial control systems in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficient with Siemens PLC (SIMATIC) and/or other PLC programming experience

  • Experience coming from a manufacturing/production plant or a machine building company (experience writing programs for machines, etc.) - General knowledge of how to troubleshoot robotics (highly preferred)

  • Any Fanuc robot experience

  • Any Cognex camera experience

  • Any electrical engineering degree or 2 year electrical program
