Job summary

Our client, a leading heavy-duty engine manufacturing company, is seeking a Controls Engineer to join their Manufacturing Engineering Department in Detroit, MI for the 3rd shift. You will troubleshoot, modify, and support PLC, CNC, HMI, robot controls and related automation systems.

You will collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams, providing technical controls support for machining operations, servo systems, VFDs, and industrial networks while helping implement machining

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
8+ years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, servo systems, VFDs.
Working knowledge of electrical codes, safety standards, networks, and databases.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, modify, and support PLC, CNC, HMI, robot controls, and related automation systems.
Provide technical controls support for heavy-duty engine machining operations and assembly processes.
Support servo systems, variable frequency drives, and industrial communication networks.
Implement and maintain machining monitoring systems and interfaces with higher-level manufacturing systems.
Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, quality, and operations teams to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
