Job summary

Panasonic Energy Corporation of North America is seeking a Controls Engineer II to analyze specifications and direct the building of prototype systems for our battery manufacturing facilities in Sparks, NV. You will drive automation across vision and PLC platforms, shaping processes with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on programming, installation of Keyence and PLC systems, and collaboration with engineering and operations to optimize performance and safety in a high-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or related field.
• 2+ years of controls engineering experience.
• Experience with 480 V panel installations and industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Program, install, and troubleshoot Keyence vision systems within Panasonic's battery manufacturing processes.
• Program, install, and troubleshoot PLC systems such as Mitsubishi and Omron within Panasonic's battery manufacturing processes.
• Analyze product or equipment specifications to determine designs producible by existing facilities.
• Assess feasibility of designing new plant equipment considering costs, space, and time constraints.
• Provide technical information on manufacturing techniques, materials, and processes impacting long-range planning.
• Prepare detailed product or system layouts and drawings; direct prototype fabrication and system building.
