Job summary

Daifuku North America in Bolingbrook, IL seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and engineer scalable material handling systems, including conveyors and robotics, aligning with customer and market needs.

You will develop PLC programs, specify controls, and collaborate with the development team, while traveling up to 30% to support field testing and beta deployments. Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience, plus expertise in Allen-Bradley and AutoCAD Electrical, are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Experience with sortation and conveyance equipment or robotics design required.
Experience with Allen-Bradley control software and tools required.
Knowledge of electrical and safety codes for machine design including risk assessments.

Responsibilities

Concept, design, develop and engineer products that add value and meet market needs.
Collaborate and review with the development team to create products.
Ensure products fit current and future manufacturing operations.
Ensure products meet performance and cost demands.
Specify and develop a sequence of operations for automated equipment.
Prepare schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.
Develop PLC programs.
Maintain development schedules and cost estimates.
Follow established engineering standards and revision control.
Prototype development and testing.
On-site beta testing to ensure safety and reliability.
Investigate product issues in the field and determine root cause.
Travel up to 30%.
