Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Controls Engineer II to support design, development, and testing of control system software for industrial refrigeration and HVAC equipment. You will join a collaborative engineering team delivering advanced controls for chillers, air handlers, and smart building products that optimize energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Software, Systems, or related engineering (MS preferred).
• 2–3 years of controls/automation experience or MS with relevant project work.
• Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design.
• Familiarity with basic control systems concepts, modeling, and data analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication; team-oriented.
• Ability to read embedded C/C++ and use Python or MATLAB scripting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test control software for chillers and air handling units in data centers and large facilities.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and systems engineers to support product development.
• Apply model-based design and control theory to create robust solutions.
• Analyze data and models to support controller development.
