Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is hiring a Controls Engineer II to design, implement and document control systems for automated equipment in Holland, MI. This onsite role requires coordinating with build and electrical teams, and traveling to customer sites up to 25% for installation and startup.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in engineering and 3+ years in automation, PLC/robotics experience, and proficiency with HMI, AutoCAD, and motion control.

How You'll Make an Impact :

• Design, implement and document control systems for various types of automated equipment.
• Conduct the electrical/hydraulic pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with the appropriate build and electrical teams.
• Ensure that equipment is designed and programmed to customer and/or JR Automation build specifications using standard techniques and approach.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree from 4-year College or university in related engineering field, or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study.
• At least 3 years of related experience and/or training
• Exposure to industry, an equivalent combination of education or experience.
• Experience with PLC's, HMI, Robot, AutoCAD, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and/or Vision Systems
• Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred
• Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment; up to 25% travel expected yearly.
