Job summary

JR Automation, A Hitachi Group Company, located in Holland, MI, is seeking a Controls Engineering Intern/Co-Op for May 2027 through August 2027. This paid internship offers hands-on learning within a multi-disciplinary automation team, supporting design, build, programming, and deployment of custom equipment.

You'll learn from experienced engineers, perform basic programming tasks, and contribute to real projects while developing CAD skills, electrical schematics understanding, and teamwork

Qualifications

• High school graduate and enrolled in an accredited engineering program.
• Basic CAD proficiency and understanding of electrical/pneumatic schematics.
• Familiarity with programming languages.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Learn and perform basic programming tasks under guidance.
• Assist controls engineers on projects.

Job Description:

Our future starts with you. The working term for this position will be from May 2027 through August 2027. Location: Holland, MI Internship Type: Full-Time, Paid As a Controls Engineering Intern/Co-Op, you will assist and support other Controls Engineers. Learn from some of the most dedicated and technically competent engineers in the Automation Industry. JR Automation drives change by learning and innovating faster than anyone else. As a member of a project team, you’ll work alongside our Applications, Controls, Mechanical, and Build teams to support the design, build, program, and deployment of custom automated equipment.

What You’ll Do:

Requires a willingness to learn and the ability to be flexible. Expected that many tasks asked will be learning experiences, and experienced team members will provide proper instruction. Expected to make positive contributions to the company in response to the training provided. Performs routine technical work which does not require previous experience. Learn and perform basic programming skills. Note: This list of responsibilities is by no means inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities.

What You’ll Bring:

• High School graduate, or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college program pursuing an engineering degree.

• Basic proficiency in programming languages.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
