Job summary

AUTOKINITON delivers operational excellence with end-to-end engineering, manufacturing, and in-house logistics. This full-time engineering role is based at our Chicago, IL plant and reports to the Engineering Manager.

You will maintain PLC-based control systems and lead electrical projects, coordinating resources to resolve issues and drive improvements. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s in electrical/ mechanical/ controls or automation engineering (Master’s a plus), PLC/CNC

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, controls or automation engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Electrical background (electrician or technician) preferred.
• Working knowledge of PLC hardware and Ladder Logic programming.
• Working knowledge of PLC/CNC (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), ABB and FANUC Robots.
• Lean Manufacturing experience required.
• Hands-on electrical/mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with electrical/controls circuitry and schematics.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain PLC based control systems for manufacturing automation and instrumentation.
• Coordinate resources to find root causes and fixes, breaking problems into testable items.
• Guide design, development and testing of electrical control methods, materials, processes and results.
• Lead projects and assist skilled trades in electrical disciplines.
• Support operations in electrical/controls troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities.
