A fusion energy start-up is looking for a Controls Engineer to lead the development and commissioning of control systems for their Target Test Experiment project. This role requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Controls Engineering and at least 5 years of relevant experience. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in PLC-based control systems and a strong ability to work collaboratively across engineering teams. This opportunity is based in Austin, Texas, with responsibilities including onsite commissioning and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in controls engineering, automation, or scientific/industrial system integration.
• Proven experience with PLC‑based control systems and industrial communication protocols.
• Ability to read and develop control schematics, interface specifications, and system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of control systems for the Target Test Experiment project.
