Job summary

HOJ Innovations seeks a passionate Controls Engineer to design, develop, and support industrial material handling and Autonomous Mobile Robot solutions. You will work directly with hardware, program software, and support installations from development through commissioning and service.

Responsibilities include PLC/HMI programming, integrating AMRs, and coordinating with electricians and field staff. A Bachelor’s in engineering and hands-on hardware experience are required; knowledge of Beckhoff,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
• Strong creative thinking and problem solving
• Hands-on hardware experience where required
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Willingness to learn new technologies

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain PLC and HMI programs
• Integrate and support AMRs within material handling and automation systems
• Develop and troubleshoot system-level integrations between PLCs, AMRs, HMIs, WMS/MES, and external software
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues including PLCs, motion, SCADA, drives, electronics
• Perform on-site commissioning and provide maintenance/surveillance for installed systems
• Prepare control schematics and specifications for panel fabrication
• Coordinate electrical installations with electricians and installers
• Document system designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
