JOB TITLE: CONTROLS ENGINEER
LOCATION: LEAGUE CITY, TX

OVERVIEW:
- Installation, configuration, and technical support of control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and DeltaV Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
- Lead projects involving control systems for compressors, generators, turbines, as well as contribute to the development and enhancement of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support project engineers and managers in the analysis of technical problems and find sound solutions.
- Install and provide technical support for PLC and DeltaV DCS hardware and software.
- Develop and optimize electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Lead and execute control system projects, including compressor, generator, and turbine control systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design and improvement of products, processes, equipment, systems, and facilities.
- Negotiate technical issues with customers to ensure alignment with current and future business needs.
- Troubleshoot PLC, control systems, and automation issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Develop technical proposals, prepare engineering documents and vendor specifications, prepare estimates, evaluate and manage costs as well as a schedule of tasks in close coordination with the clusters to optimize costs, processes and quality. Also review existing specifications and develop new technical specifications as may be required to stay abreast with technological developments.
- Participate in system/equipment problem solving; investigate operating deficiencies/inefficiencies and provide recommendations for modifications to improve reliability and efficiency.
EXPERIENCE
- 5 to 8 years’ experience in design and construction of LNG/Ammonia/LPG and/or chemical storage terminals/chemical plants or refineries. Knowledge of relevant US codes and standards is expected.
- Understanding of terminal business processes and operations, with emphasis on HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment).
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION:
- Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation or Automation Engineering is a PLUS.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including experience in 8D, FMEA, and DMAIC methodologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various PLC types and applications.
- Experience with Honeywell, Emerson, Allen Bradley, and Siemens control systems (preferred).
- Ability to perform diagnostics, repairs, and programming using hand tools, instruments, and meters.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot machinery and equipment for quality and efficiency improvements.
- Experience with Fanuc and ABB robotics systems (highly desirable).
- Proficiency in Indramat, Siemens programming, Cognex vision systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

OVERVIEW:
- Provide in-depth Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation engineering support for company growth initiatives.
- Support Business Development/Commercial teams, Project Directors to ensure cost-effective, sustainable, and technological solutions for terminal design and construction, focusing on new energies and emerging tech.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support project teams in analyzing technical problems and finding engineering solutions.
- Assist in feasibility studies, FEED, permitting, QRA, detailed engineering, specifications, estimates, and vendor evaluations.
- Develop proposals, documents, and manage costs and schedules in coordination with stakeholders.
- Participate in project reviews, technical analyses, and engineering studies like HAZOP.
- Coordinate with stakeholders including BD/Commercial teams, Project Directors, and terminals.
- Manage minor-capital projects, troubleshoot equipment issues, and recommend improvements.
- Oversee project progress and budget reporting.
- Support maintenance activities and asset reviews.
- Negotiate technical issues with clients to align with business needs.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s in Process or Chemical Engineering.
- 5-8 years of experience in LNG, ammonia, LPG, chemical storage, or refinery projects.
- Familiarity with US codes and standards.
- Experience with refrigerated and cryogenic fluids, chemicals, hydrocarbons (like LNG, ammonia), and hydrogen handling is a plus.
- Understanding of commercial implications of engineering decisions.
- Background in oil, chemical, and gas storage/distribution for operational efficiency and safety.
